Kit Contents
This kit contains a handlebar.
INSTALLATION
This handlebar installs in the same manner as the OE (Original equipment) handlebar. See the service manual to remove the OE handlebar.
2014-2015 Models with heated hand grip wiring: Cut and remove the unused heated hand grip two-pin connectors from both ends of the harness.
To ease the installation of the wire harness:
  • Note wire colors and pin locations. De-pin connectors.
  • Remove any cable straps from wire harness.
  • See Figure 1. Stagger the pins (1) so they are not in the same locations along the harness (2).
  • See Figure 2. String a suitable cord (1) through the handlebar. Tie the cord to the wire harness. Wrap tape (2) over the harness and pins. Tape should come to a taper (3) and be flexible to ease pulling through the handlebar.

Handlebar Installation
    NOTE
Typical handlbar orientation places the handlebar riser plane parallel to the front forks of the vehicle. State or local regulations may dictate handlbar height limits. Research and adjust accordingly.
  • Install handlebar to riser base, routing wire bundles down through the upper fork bracket.
  • Seat handlebar with knurled areas centered on rise base.
  • Install riser clamp and clamp bolts, but do not fully tighten.
  • NOTE
Tighten front pair of riser screws first. Then tighten rear riser screws pair.
  • Adjust handlbar angle. Uprights of handlebar run roughly parallel to front forks.
  • With handlebar centered and oriented, secure riser clamp fasteners. Tighten. 29.8–32.5 N·m (22–24 ft-lbs)
WARNING
Be sure that steering is smooth and free without interference. Interference with steering could result in loss of vehicle control and death or serious injury. (00371a)
