Before tightening further, ensure each plastic seal has cleanly entered hole and not become caught on the hole?s edge. Starting with hole (A), tighten the screw to 2–2.7 N·m (18–24 in-lbs) while observing the seal for proper seating. Repeat with screw in hole (B) and then the screw in hole (C). Examine each plastic seal, ensuring it is properly seated in the hole.

NOTE
Harley-Davidson Wear Pad, Part Number 66055-93, can be purchased and installed over the lower portion of the console to prevent scuffing of the chrome below the seat. The wear pad can be trimmed to match the shape of the console. If the seat extends up over the lower portion of the console and the wear pad is not installed, scuffing and scratching of the chrome below the seat may occur.
WARNING
After installing seat, pull upward on seat to be sure it is locked in position. While riding, a loose seat can shift causing loss of control, which could result in death or serious injury. (00070b)
