Models
Kit 53086-01 is designed for installation on all Touring models equipped with Detachable Passenger Sissy Bar Upright 52933-97A or 52805-97A.
Kits 53086-04 and 52825-05 are designed for installation on all Touring models equipped with Detachable Sissy Bar Upright 52933-97B, 52805-97B, or 52723-06
INSTALLATION
| 1. | Remove the stock chrome backrest mount bracket. Discard the stock screws. NOTE To install this kit, re-use the plastic spacer/bushings supplied with the backrest pad. | |
| 2. | See Figure 1. Install the plastic spacer/bushings (A) in the mounting holes on the backrest pad (B). | |
| 3. | Position the backrest pad on the Low Detachable Backrest upright. Place the backrest mount (1) in position and secure it with three flat-head screws (2). | |
| 4. | Tighten the screws (2) to 5.4–6.8 N·m (48–60 in-lbs). |
WARNINGAfter installing sissy bar/sideplate assembly, pull upward to be sure it is locked in position. While riding, a loose sissy bar/sideplate assembly can shift causing loss of control, which could result in death or serious injury. (00388a)
