| 1. | Remove the center mounting screw on the the oil filter mount. |

| 2. | See Figure 1. Carefully guide the cover (1) between the downtube (2), rear master cylinder and the exhaust pipe (3). Temporarily rest the cover on a soft cloth (4) within the frame members beneath the sending unit. | |||||||||
| 3. | See Figure 3. Install the mounting block (2) onto oil filter mount using the hex socket 1/4-20 screw (3) provided in the kit. See Service Parts illustration for orientation. NOTE A ball end wrench is helpful when installing the mounting block. |

| 4. | With the vehicle upright, position the top of the mounting block (the side with two threaded holes) parallel with the floor. Torque to 90-120 in-lbs (10-13 Nm). NOTE Before tightening the cover, be certain that the sending unit wiring harness is routed away from the edges of the cover, otherwise damage to the wires may occur. | |||||||||
| 5. | See Figure 3. Raise and rotate the cover (1) into the final position and install the cover using the two #10-24 screws (4). Verify that the internal rubber mounting block is fully seated around the sending unit body. Verify that the sending unit wiring harness is routed away from the edges of the cover. Torque to 40-50 in-lbs (4-5 Nm). |
