| 1. | Disconnect the battery cables, negative (-) cable first. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2. | See Figure 1. Press down on top of lens (1) to disengage tabs (15) and remove lens. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3. | Remove screws (2) and washers and nuts (3), inside fender (10). On 1995 and earlier models, save the internal toothed washers (4). Save the cable clamp (9) and discard the two screws, washers and nuts. |

| 4. | Unplug connector (5) and remove fender tip light assembly (6). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 5. | On 1995 and earlier models, remove grommet (7) and gently slide it over the socket half of connector (5). (A small thin-bladed screwdriver may be used to pry grommet over the connector.) Gently pull wire (8) inside fender. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6. | Position mud flap (11) on outer surface of fender and install two screws through center two holes in mud flap and fender tip light mounting holes in fender. Install washers and nuts on screws (inside fender) and tighten enough to hold the mud flap in position. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 7. | Visually check that the mud flap is centered on fender and mark the location of the outer mud flap holes on the fender with a grease pencil. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 8. | Remove the mud flap and prick punch the two outer holes marked on fender in Step 6 above. NOTE Center punch the outer holes at the forward edge of the grease pencil marks. This will compensate for the shorter contour distance inside the fender versus the outside contour on which the holes were marked. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 9. | To protect tire, place a short piece of board inside fender at outer hole location and drill a 7/32 inch diameter hole through fender. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 10. | Repeat Step 8 for second outer hole. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 11. | On 1996 and later models, cut slit from top of mud flap to hole (13). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12. | Place the mud flap inside fender and secure at outer holes with 10-24 x 7/8 inch screws, washers and locknuts contained in kit. Install screws from outer side of fender and washers and nuts inside fender. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 13. | On 1995 and earlier models, reach inside fender and route wire (8) through hole (13) in the mud flap and grommet hole. Slip grommet (7) over the socket half of connector (5) and install it in fender hole. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 14. | On 1996 and later models, See Figure 1. Reach inside fender and slide wires through slit (14) into large hole (13). NOTE Install connector (5) before performing Step 13. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 15. | Install fender tip light using the screws, nuts and washers supplied in kit. See Figure 1. Make sure toothed washers (4) are installed as shown on 1995 and earlier models. The screws (2); also secure the mud flap at the center holes and cable clamp (9) and wire (8) on the right screw. (Toothed washers provide ground for light on 1995 and earlier models.) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 16. | Check that lens gasket (12) is undamaged; replace if it will not provide a good seal, and install lens (1). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 17. | Connect the battery cables, positive (+) cable first. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 18. | Check that fender tip light is operational. |
