NOTE

This instruction sheet references Service Manual information. A Service Manual for your model motorcycle is required for this installation. One is available from a Harley-Davidson Dealer.

WARNING

Do not install these seat kits on motorcycles that are not equipped with an appropriate grab strap and passenger footpegs. If footpegs and grab strap are not installed, passenger could fall from moving motorcycle or grab onto operator, causing loss of control and death or serious injury. (00410b)

Kit Contents

See Figure 1 and Table 1.

INSTALLATION

1.	Remove stock grab strap and all mounting hardware. Save the stock locknut.
2.	See the service manual. Remove stock seat. Remove rear mounting bracket from stock pillion. Remove stock pillion from solo seat. Save all hardware.
3.	Install the rear seat bracket removed in Step 1 onto the touring pillion using the stock mounting hardware. Tighten to 4.5–6.8 N·m (40–60 in-lbs).
4.	Install touring pillion to solo seat (in the same manner as stock pillion was mounted. Reuse stock hardware saved in step 1.
5.	Install seat to motorcycle. Fasten rear mount bracket to fender nut using stock mount screw.
	WARNING After installing seat, pull upward on seat to be sure it is locked in position. While riding, a loose seat can shift causing loss of control, which could result in death or serious injury. (00070b)
6.	See Figure 1. Install grab strap (5) using screws (2), washers (3) and spacers (4) as shown.
