INSTALLATION
NOTE
The clutch cable clamp base plate, (item #3) should only be installed with the vehicle is equipped with an engine guard as in Figure 2.
Procedure for Models without Engine Guard installed:
The items from the kit replace the original equipment clutch cable clamp and capscrew located on the left frame downtube.
  1. Remove and discard the existing self tapping capscrew and clutch cable clamp that is clamping the clutch cable to the left frame downtube.
  2. See Figure 2. Apply one drop of Loctite 243 (Blue) to the threads of the new capscrew (2). Install the clutch hose clip (1) and capscrew (2), securing the clutch cable to the frame downtube horizontal mounting bracket.
  3. Tighten screw to 12-24 in-lbs (2.3-2.5 Nm).
Procedure for Models with Engine Guard installed:
If installing Clutch Cable Adjuster Dust Cover (64108-03) with the base plate clip, follow this procedure.
  1. See Figure 2. Apply one drop of Loctite 243 (Blue) to the threads of the new capscrew (2). Install the clutch hose clip (1), clutch cable clamp base plate (3) and capscrew (2), securing the clutch cable to the frame downtube horizontal mounting bracket, rotating the clamp 180 degrees to allow for clearance from the engine guard..
  2. Tighten screw to 12-24 in-lbs (2.3-2.5 Nm).
