TROUBLESHOOTING
Table 1. Troubleshooting
Problem
Solution
Player does not turn on
  • Press and hold the play/pause button for 5 seconds to turn on the device.
  • Verify that the fuse is installed in the inline fuse holder.
  • Verify that the two-pin connector on the back of the player is firmly connected.
Player shuts off when key switched from accessory to ignition position
  • Re-start the player after loss of power.
Screen reads "no"
  • Verify that the memory card is present and fully seated.
  • If the memory card is present, remove and test the card using the reader/writer and your personal computer to verify that tracks are loaded on the card.
Volume is too low
  • Increase the volume on the radio to control the output to the speakers.
  • If still too low, change the volume selector switch on the back of the player from "B" (factory default) to "A".
Audio is distorted or garbled
  • Play the track on your personal computer using the reader/writer and memory card to make certain the recording is of good quality.
  • If the problem persists, make certain the ground (black wire) to the player is properly connected. Loss of ground to the player can lead to degradation of audio output.
Player is playing, but no audio is coming from radio
  • Verify that the audio plug is completely seated in the radio jack on the front face and also verify that the radio is in "AUX" mode.
  • Verify that the three-pin connector on the back of the player is firmed connected.
Player shuts off after playing several tracks
  • The player is designed to turn off after playing ALL tracks on the memory card.
  • If continuous play is desired, use the "MODE" button to select "repeat track" or "repeat all tracks".
  • Refer to the Owner's Manual for details on play mode settings.
Reader/writer does not appear in Windows Explorer
  • Verify that the red light is illuminated on the reader/writer. If not, unplug the device and re-plug.
  • If still not present, restart your computer and re-install the reader/writer after Windows has completely loaded.
Audio tracks appear in the folder of the memory card but they will not play when the card is in the player
  • Verify that all music tracks are either ".MP3" or ".WMA" formatted files.
  • If this is correct, verify that all files are in the root directory of the memory card.
  • Files cannot be in sub-folders; the player only recognizes files in the root (or main) directory.
Windows will not allow me to drag-and-drop audio tracks to my reader/writer folder
  • Windows® has built in Digital Right Management to discourage unlawful exchange of music tracks. Depending on the source, the track may have rights protection that prevents you from moving the file to your memory card. Contact the source of the audio track for details on how to copy protected tracks.
