INSTALLATION
WARNING
Improper loading of cargo or installation of accessories can affect motorcycle stability and handling, which could result in death or serious injury. (00121a)
  • Keep cargo weight concentrated close to the motorcycle and as low as possible to minimize the change in the motorcycle's center of gravity. Distribute weight evenly on both sides of the vehicle.
  • Be sure cargo is secure and will not shift while riding. Periodically recheck load.
  • Ensure that the bag strap buckle is secure.
  • Secure straps, keep away from rear wheel.
  • Do not put more than 7 pounds (3.18 kg) in each bag.
  1. Ensure that the seat tail section and license plate areas are clean and dirt free. Also, ensure that the underside of the saddlebags and mounting straps are clean and dirt free.
  2. Remove the seat as described in the Owner's Manual.
  3. Place the saddlebag over the tail section with the footpeg straps at the front.
  4. See Figure 1. Place the loops of the saddlebag footpeg straps over the passenger footpegs and pull the saddlebags to the rear until front straps are tight.
  5. NOTE
Make sure center strap is located forward of posts to prevent binding and premature wear.
  6. See Figure 2. Position second center strap (1) just forward of two locating posts (2) on tail section.
  7. See Figure 3. Route rear straps over turn signal posts and under brake light. Connect straps with buckle (1).

  1. See Figure 4. Position reflector mount on lower right corner of saddlebag.
  2. Mark holes on saddlebag with pen (or other appropriate tool).
  3. Using soapy water, clean the surface where reflector will be installed.
  4. Allow the surface to dry completely before continuing.
  5. Using appropriate tool, make two 3/16 in. holes in saddlebag.
