3. | See Figure 2. Carefully mark the side and rear location of the trim on the saddlebag lid with masking tape. Remove the trim piece and set it aside.
4. | Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the opposite saddlebag.
5. | For maximum bond strength of the adhesive, the saddlebag lid surface in the mounting area must be clean and dry. To ensure surface cleanliness, clean the mounting area of both saddlebag lids with a mixture of 50% isopropyl alcohol and 50% distilled water. Allow to dry thoroughly! NOTE To prevent re-contamination of the surfaces, apply the lid trims soon after the lids have been cleaned and have thoroughly dried.
6. | Peel the liner from the adhesive backing of the correct trim piece, and position the trim over the mounting area without allowing the adhesive to touch the lid surface.
7. | Line up the rear and sides of the trim with the masking tape. Carefully lower the trim onto the saddlebag lid, and press firmly into place. Hold the trim in place, pressing all parts of the trim against the lid for about five seconds. Take care not to shift the trim on the mounting surface.
8. | After releasing pressure, avoid direct contact with the trim for about 20 minutes.
9. | Repeat Steps 6 through 8 for the opposite saddlebag. |
