INSTALLATION
Inserting the Detector into the Bracket and Mount Assembly
  1. Obtain the Road Tech 75 Radar and Laser Detector (sold separately). See Figure 1. Position the detector (E) to the bracket and mount assembly (2), with the controls on the left top surface. Slide the detector forward into the slot on the top of the mount until the tab engages with two sharp "clicks".
  2. NOTE
If the detector does not fasten with two definite clicks, it could slide off the mount while the vehicle is in motion.
  3. To remove, firmly press upward on the release tab located on the underside of the detector, and slide the detector backward to disengage it from the mount.
Installing the Bracket Mount and Detector Assembly on the Vehicle Windshield
NOTE
Make certain the installed bracket mount and detector do not block the vehicle operator's view of driving conditions.
Make certain the Road Tech 75 Radar and Laser Detector has a clear view of the road ahead and is not shielded by metal objects.
Make certain the adapter (A) cable path does not interfere with the operation of vehicle controls and safety equipment.
Do not mount the detector over airbag panels or in front of an airbag field of deployment.
  1. Thoroughly clean the inside surfaces of both the windshield and all three suction cups (3), and allow to air dry before installing the suction mount.
  2. NOTE
By positioning the suction cups higher or lower on the windshield, the detector can be moved closer or farther away from the user.
Verify that the adapter (A) can reach the desired 12/24 Volt DC power receptacle in the vehicle.
  3. Place the bracket mount and detector assembly in the desired location on the windshield. Hold the suction cups against the glass and push the button ends (B) toward the windshield so that the suction mount is gripped firmly against the windshield. Apply gentle pressure to the suction mount to make certain the grip is secure.
  4. NOTE
For most effective signal reception, the detector should be pointed straight ahead.
  5. If necessary, slightly loosen the screw (4) and hex nut with washer (5) on each side of the bracket assembly (2). Adjust the angle of the lower bracket so that the detector is parallel to the surface of the road. Re-tighten the screws and hex nuts. Double-check the suction mount's firm hold on the windshield.
  6. To remove the suction mount from the windshield, pull the tabs (C) on the suction cups away from the windshield to help release the grip.
Connecting the Adapter to the Vehicle Power Source
The bracket and mount assembly (1) includes a power cable with a 12/24 Volt DC adapter (A). This becomes the Road Tech 75 Radar and Laser Detector's power source when mounted in a motor vehicle.
  1. Plug the adapter into an available 12/24 Volt DC power receptacle (cigarette lighter or power point) in the vehicle. Use care when routing the cable to ensure that it does not interfere with vehicle operation in any way.
    1. Refer to the instructions that came with the Road Tech 75 Radar and Laser Detector.
    2. The tip of the adapter contains an AGC/3AG 3 amp, high-breaking capacity, 1500A-rated fuse. Should the fuse need to be replaced, unscrew and remove the round end piece (D). Remove the metal tip, then remove and replace the fuse.
