Kit number 63040-05 is designed to fit 1999-2006 Dyna model motorcycles equipped with Oil Cooler kit numbers 26081-05 or 26110-05.

Harley-Davidson High Performance Sealant, Part Number 99650-02 must be purchased separately to install this chrome cover kit.

INSTALLATION
  1. See Figure 1 or Figure 2 for your model motorcycle. Thoroughly clean the oil cooler of all dirt, grease and wax. Alcohol can be used to clean the oil cooler. Be certain that the chrome cover is dry and free of dirt, oil or grease. Alcohol can be used to clean the chrome cover (1).
  2. Apply adhesive in four vertical strips on inside surface of oil cooler, approximately 3.0 inches in length and 0.25 inches thick. Apply two strips of adhesive (A), 0.25 inches from center hole cutout. Apply two strips of adhesive on inside radius (B) of cover.
  3. Slip the cover over the oil cooler. Remove any excess sealant from the front and back of the oil cooler. Care should be taken to avoid getting the sealant on the fins of the oil cooler. Hold the chrome cover firmly in place for one minute.
    4. NOTE
    Do not start or drive motorcycle for 24 hours to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
