WARNING
Saddlebags are intended for solo-use only. Avoid carrying a passenger with saddlebags installed. Saddlebags restrict access to passenger footpegs, which could result in death or serious injury. (00580b)
INSTALLATION
Install the Saddlebag Reflectors
WARNING
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108 requires motorcycles to be equipped with rear and side reflectors. Be sure rear and side reflectors are properly mounted. Poor visibility of rider to other motorists can result in death or serious injury. (00336b)
  1. Cut a piece of masking tape slightly longer than the reflector. Center the reflector on the masking tape and trace the position of the reflector posts with a marking pen. This is the template for the reflector mounting holes.
  2. See Figure 1. Position the masking tape on the saddlebag as shown.
  3. Using appropriate tool, make two 3/16 inch holes in saddlebag at locations (1 and 2) marked on the masking tape. Remove the masking tape.
  4. See Figure 2. Use soapy water or isopropyl alcohol, clean the surface of the reflector mount (2) where reflector (1) will be installed.
  5. Allow the surface to dry completely before continuing.
  6. Remove adhesive from back of reflector and install on reflector mount. Apply pressure to reflector for at least one minute.
  7. Install reflector assembly on saddlebag with two push nuts (3). The push nuts are installed from inside the saddlebag.
  8. Repeat for other saddlebag.
  9. Let the adhesive cure for at least 24 hours at no less than 60°F (16°C).
1Distance from template to decal - 0.75 inch (19 mm) (approximate)
2Distance from center of right hole to seam - 1.50 inch (38 mm) (approxmate)
