| 1. | Refer to the service manual and follow the instructions given to remove the seat and disconnect the battery cables, negative cable first. | |

| 2. | Remove the original equipment induction module per the instructions for your model found in the INDUCTION MODULE: REMOVAL section of the service manual with the following exception: a. For Dyna models only: See Figure 1 and FUEL INJECTORS; REMOVAL in the service manual. Use a 10mm socket wrench to remove the screw (27) holding the fuel supply tube (14) to the original equipment fuel pod (13). Remove the fuel supply tube from the induction module by pulling it out of the fuel pod. Set the fuel supply tube aside for re-installation to the new induction module. The screw (27), O-rings (28) and sealing washer (29) can be discarded b. Remove the screw (27) holding the fuel supply tube (14) to the new fuel pod (13). Remove the fuel supply tube from the induction module by pulling it out of the fuel pod, taking care not to damage the new O-rings (28) and sealing washer (29). Place a few drops of Loctite® 243 (Blue) on the threads of the screw. See FUEL INJECTORS; INSTALLATION in the service manual. Install the original equipment fuel supply tube, and the new O-rings and sealing washer to the new induction module. | |
| 3. | Using the new intake manifold seals (2) from the kit, install the new induction module per the instructions for your model found in the INDUCTION MODULE: INSTALLATION section of the service manual with the following exception: a. The two mounting flanges (1) in this kit are identical, with no need to determine the F (front) or R (rear) flange. The new flange can be identified by the number "44" embossed on the side facing the induction module. | |
Connect positive (+) battery cable first. If positive (+) cable should contact ground with negative (-) cable connected, the resulting sparks can cause a battery explosion, which could result in death or serious injury. (00068a) | ||
