1. | Clean the outside fender edge with a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. | |
2. | See Figure 1. Get the left side fender trim (2). It is marked with the word "Left". | |
3. | Position the trim on the fender. Do not remove the adhesive tape backing. | |
4. | Locate the trim in the desired position and hold it in place with masking tape. | |
5. | Apply a small piece of masking tape to the fender to mark the location of the leading tip of the trim. | |
6. | Remove the trim. | |
7. | Remove a section of the adhesive tape backing from the trim starting at the front end tip. | |
8. | Align the leading tip of the trim with the masking tape and press in place. | |
9. | Remove the rest of the adhesive backing in stages. Work around the trim to the trailing tip. Press the trim in place as you follow the arc of the fender. | |
10. | Slide both thumbs along the face of the trim starting at one end and moving to the opposite end while applying firm pressure. Small spring clamps or binder clips may be used to apply continuous pressure while curing. | |
11. | Allow the adhesive to cure overnight before operating the vehicle. | |
