1. | Purge the fuel line of high pressure gasoline per the instructions in the service manual. | |||||||||||||||||||

2. | Refer to the service manual for instructions to remove the main fuse. | |||||||||||||||||||
3. | See the service manual, and follow the instructions given to remove the fuel tank and air box. | |||||||||||||||||||
4. | See Figure 1. Remove the short rubber tube (3) from the breather hose assembly (2) that extends through the large opening on the underside of the air box (1). NOTE This tube is being removed only to prevent airflow obstruction through the restrictor plate. DO NOT DISCARD. The rubber tube MUST be installed back onto the breather hose assembly when the EFI Restrictor Plate Kit is removed. | |||||||||||||||||||
5. | Remove the rubber coupling (4) from the induction module. |

6. | See Figure 2. Place the restrictor plate (1) on the ledge (3) inside the throttle bore (2). | |||||||||||||||||||
7. | Press the rubber coupling (4) down over the ribbed flange on the induction module until it bottoms out on the restrictor plate. The restrictor plate should be held firmly, sandwiched between the ledge and the rubber coupling. NOTE Make sure the plastic tee fitting ( Figure 1 , item 5) on the breather hose assembly will be pointed straight downward into the throttle bore when the air box is installed. | |||||||||||||||||||
8. | Follow the instructions in the service manual to install the air box and fuel tank. | |||||||||||||||||||
9. | Verify that the ignition/key switch is turned to the OFF position. Refer to the service manual, and follow the instructions to install the main fuse. |
