Stainless steel tie (10) | 65633-06 |
| 1. | See Figure 1. Determine the length of each tube by measuring from the exhaust port flange (2) to muffler (4) (approximately 38 inches [97 cm] per foot [30 cm] of exhaust pipe for TC and XL models and 44 inches [112 cm] per foot [30 cm] of exhaust pipe for VR models is required). Add a few additional inches for each bend before cutting. | |
| 2. | CAREFULLY cut wrap material (1) for each tube and collector. | |
| 3. | Without soaking, moisten wrap with water. Wrap material near the top of the exhaust port flange (2) and secure with a stainless steel tie. | |
| 4. | Tightly wrap the exhaust pipe overlapping to suit with each revolution. Bind and secure the end of the wrap using a stainless steel tie (3). | |
| 5. | Repeat for the other exhaust pipe. | |
NOTICE Pressurized water can remove the cured protective layer of the exhaust wrap and cause property damage. Do not wash with a pressure washer. (00595c) | ||
| 6. | Allow the wrap to completely air dry. NOTE Upon initial use, the material may smoke up to 30 minutes until the wrap has cured. Depending on the motorcycle model, there may be excess exhaust wrap and stainless steel ties. Neutral color wrap may season to a light bronze color and the black color wrap may season to a dark gray color. |
