This kit is designed to aid the installation of cams in all Twin Cam 96 engines.

WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for your model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson Dealer.
INSTALLATION
- Remove the main fuse.
- Install new cams according to the instructions provided with the cams.
- Apply a thin film of clean H-D 20W50 engine oil to the splines of the rear cam.
- See Figure 1. Using spacers (1) listed in Figure 1, install the splined sprocket (A) to the rear camshaft according to instructions in applicable service manual.
- Finish installation as necessary and install main fuse.
NOTE
Verify alignment at the crank and primary cam sprocket punch marks as described in the service manual.
Verify alignment at the crank and primary cam sprocket faces. Use included spacers to maintain alignment at + or - 0.010 inches.
The original equipment front cam, 0.100 inch thick spacer (25729-06), is re-used.
