If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for your model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.
INSTALLATION
| 1. | See the service manual and remove the fuel tank. NOTE Do not apply any type of sealant to the gasket. | |
| 2. | See Figure 2. Install the top plate (1) with the attached gasket (2) onto the top of the fuel tank. | |
| 3. | See Figure 1. Secure the top plate to the fuel tank with ten sealing screws (3). Tighten to 2–2.7 N·m (18–24 in-lbs) following the torque sequence shown. | |
| 4. | See the service manual and install the new fuel tank. With the exception of the installation of the top plate assembly, this fuel tank and all other removed components will install in the same manner as the original equipment (OE) fuel tank. |
