If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. INSTALLATION
| 1. | See the service manual for brake disc removal and disassembly procedures. | |
NOTICE Do not re-use brake disc/rotor screws. Re-using these screws can result in torque loss and damage to brake components. (00319c) | ||
| 2. | See Figure 1. Assemble and install the new brake disc (1) following the instructions in the service manual. Place a few drops of Loctite 243 (blue) on the threads of the new chrome screws from the kit. Install the brake disc using ONLY the new chrome screws. Torque the screws to 54 N·m (40 ft-lbs). NOTE Avoid hard stops for the first 300 miles. Hard stops during wear-in period will gall brake discs. |
