  • Police LED Engine Guard Kit 69251-04, 69264-04 or 69265-04, PLUS
  • Police LED Mirror Kit 56000001, 56000019 or 56000020

WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. This instruction sheet refers to service manual information. A service manual for this year/model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.
Kit Contents
See Figure 1 and Table 1.
INSTALLATION
  1. Follow the INSTALLATION: FLHP/FLHPE/FLHTP Models instructions in the Police LED Mirror kit to the point where the mirrors have been mounted to the hand controls.
  2. For FLHTP models only: Remove the outer fairing per service manual instructions.
  3. ALL models: Locate the flasher module installed with the Police LED Pursuit Kit or Police LED Engine Guard Kit:
  • FLHTP models, inside the fairing.
  • 2007 and earlier FLHP/FLHPE models, inside the left side cover.
  • 2008 and later FLHP/FLHPE models, where installed.
  1. Unplug the 12-way Deutsch socket housing on the front emergency lamp harness from the pin housing on the flasher module.
  2. Connect the mirror control module from this kit to the 12-way pin and socket housings on the flasher module and front emergency lamp harness.
  3. Temporarily route the mirror wires along the handlebars, and to the mirror control module location. Cut the excess length from the mirror wires, leaving enough to easily connect to the two-way Tyco/AMP pin housings coming from the mirror control module.
  4. Follow the instructions in the service manual appendix to crimp the socket terminals from this kit to the ends of the mirror wires.
    5. NOTE
    • Identify each wire as coming from the left or right mirror before sleeving the wires with protective conduit.
    • If necessary, apply a light coat of liquid soap, window cleaner or all-purpose lubricant to the inside of the conduit.
  5. Get the two lengths of 3.4 mm (0.133 in) ID conduit from the Police LED Mirror kit and slide one piece over each pair of mirror wires. Secure the sleeved wires in place with cable straps from the kit.
    6. NOTE
    Incorrect wiring of the socket housings could result in damage to the mirror control module.
  6. Follow the instructions in the service manual appendix to insert the terminals and wires from each mirror into one of the two-way socket housings from the kit as follows:
  • Gray wire into cavity 1.
  • Black wire into cavity 2.
  1. To flash left mirror and LEFT pursuit lamp together: Plug the left-side mirror socket housing into the module connector with red and black wires. To flash left mirror and RIGHT pursuit lamp together: Plug the left-side mirror socket housing into the module connector with blue and black wire. Plug the right-side mirror socket housing into the remaining module connector.
  2. Secure the mirror module to existing wiring using the cable straps provided.

Return to the INSTALLATION: FLHP/FLHPE/FLHTP Models instructions in the Police LED Mirror kit for final assembly and testing instructions.
