REMOVAL

NOTE

When performing the following installation procedures, avoid scratching painted surfaces (fender, tank, etc.) with tools or metal seat tabs.

Remove saddlebags from motorcycle. Refer to SADDLEBAGS in applicable service manual. Save all saddlebag mounting hardware for later use.

NOTE

Before removal, note the mounting orientation of grabstrap, saddlebag mounting bracket and hardware.

See Figure 1. Remove existing grabstrap (1) from left side of motorcycle by removing screw (2), washer (3) and saddlebag mounting bracket (4) from chrome frame tube cover. Repeat steps for right side of motorcycle.
FLHR Models:
1. Remove the mounting screw from rear of passenger pillion. Pull the pillion rearward from the mounting studs to remove the pillion. Save mounting screw.
2. Remove seat mounting nuts that secure the rider seat to the fender. remove the seat from the motorcycle.
FLTR, FLHT/C/U, FLHRC and FLHRS Models: Remove the mounting screw from rear of seat. Remove seat. Save mounting screw.

INSTALLATION

1.	See Figure 2. Install new seat from kit onto motorcycle, making certain that bracket (1) on front of seat fully engages seat mounting slot (3) in frame backbone (4).
2.	Secure the seat to the fender using the screw from step 3 or 4.
3.	Attach grabstrap from the kit to the left saddlebag mount using the stock screw and washer. Tighten to 13.6 N·m (120 in-lbs).
4.	Lay grab strap over the seat. Attach grab strap to right saddlebag mount using stock screw and washer. Tighten to 13.6 N·m (120 in-lbs).
5.	Install saddlebags. Refer to SADDLEBAGS in applicable service manual.
