INSTALLATION
NOTE
Install end caps on mufflers before installing mufflers on vehicle.
Install Retention Ring-Style End Caps
| 1. | See Figure 1. Install the three clip nuts (3) onto the end cap retention ring (2) in the orientation shown. | |
| 2. | Slide retention ring into end cap (4). Align mounting holes in end cap with clip nuts on ring. | |
| 3. | Insert end cap and attachment ring into muffler end. Rotate end cap and attachment ring to align the holes. | |
| 4. | Install the three countersunk screws. Tighten to 9.5–12.2 N·m (7–9 ft-lbs). | |
| 5. | Repeat for opposite side muffler. | |
| 6. | Install mufflers following the instructions in the muffler or exhaust system kit. | |
NOTICE Wipe all fingerprints off of exhaust system components after installation and before starting engine. Oil from hands can leave permanent marks on exhaust system finish. (00346a) | ||
| 7. | Wipe exhaust system clean. |
