2011 and later Softail models require a longer Intake Air Temperature (IAT) wire harness lead and a harness extension sub kit has been included for accomplishing this. See "2011 and Later Softail Models (only)" in this instruction sheet to install. All other models can dispose of these parts.

NOTICE

You must recalibrate the ECM when installing this kit. Failure to properly recalibrate the ECM can result in severe engine damage. (00399b)

Additional Requirements

Screamin' Eagle Pro 58mm EFI manifold kit, part number 29667-07 is required to install this kit.

For installation of the IAT wire harness extension an Ultratorch UT-100 (Part No. HD-39969), Robinair Heat Gun (Part No. HD-25070) with Heatshrink Attachment (Part No. HD-41183) is required for the proper installation of this kit.

Packard Crimp Tool (HD-38125-8) is also required.

If the IAT wire harness extension and sealed connectors are used, the high temperature cloth (included) must be used to protect wires and connectors.

NOTE

The manifold required for this throttle body has intake runners which are 0.100" larger in diameter than all stock Twin Cam heads and early Screamin' Eagle performance cylinder heads. The intake port diameter in the cylinder heads should be 1.750". If not, an experienced engine builder can open the cylinder head ports to this diameter to be sure of a smooth transition and air-flow.

Additionally, the larger intake flanges supplied in the required manifold kit will only work with cylinder heads machined for use with the stock symmetrical intake flanges (OE since 2006).

All Screamin' Eagle performance cylinder heads with kit p/n extension of 2006 or later are machined for use with symmetrical intake flanges and have an intake port diameter of 1.750" (except Kompressor and MCR Performance).

Optional High Flow Injectors, part number 27797-07 or 27400002, are available for use with this kit.

In addition, a Screamin' Eagle High Flow Air Cleaner Kit or a Heavy Breather Intake System should be installed to provide sufficient airflow to the new induction module. Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. PREPARATION

NOTE

This instruction sheet requires that the intake manifold in Kit 29667-07 has been installed.

WARNING

To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)

Refer to service manual and follow the instructions given to remove main fuse.

INSTALLATION

WARNING

When servicing the fuel system, do not smoke or allow open flame or sparks in the vicinity. Gasoline is extremely flammable and highly explosive, which could result in death or serious injury. (00330a)

All Models

Remove the original equipment induction module per the instructions for your model found in the INDUCTION MODULE: REMOVAL section of the service manual.
Make sure that the seal ring is in place on the intake manifold and install throttle body to manifold.
Install and adjust throttle cables using instructions in service manual.
Refer to service manual or Screamin' Eagle air cleaner kit instructions to install air cleaner assembly.
Refer to the service manual and follow the instructions given to install main fuse.

2011 and Later Softail Models (only)

1.	The IAT wire harness will need an extension. A harness extension sub kit has been included to accomplish this.
2.	Identify the IAT wire harness connector and harness leads. Use the service manual as an aide.
3.	Pull the harness sheath back as far as possible. Secure sheath with binder clip or other means.
4.	Cut the IAT sensor connector off just behind the connector to maximize usable wire length.
5.	Identify matching wire color markings on the original IAT harness and the harness extension supplied.
6.	Mock-up the finished IAT harness extension routing to verify length of harness extension desired. NOTE Recommended extension harness routing is to go behind and around the bottom of the manifold and then back up to the IAT sensor on the throttle body.
7.	Verify that there is enough slack in the harness to allow for engine movement relative to the motorcycle frame and tethered main harness. Use tape to temporarily hold wires in place.
8.	Mark the IAT harness extension (2) leads trim location.
9.	Carefully cut original wires and harness extension wires so that the splices will be staggered and will not touch each other.
10.	Strip insulation off 3/8 inch of insulation on all four wire ends.
	WARNING Be sure to follow manufacturer's instructions when using the UltraTorch UT-100 or any other radiant heating device. Failure to follow manufacturer's instructions can cause a fire, which could result in death or serious injury. (00335a)
11.	Refer to the service manual and follow instructions for splicing wire leads and inspecting seals.
12.	When splicing has been completed remove the clip for the OE sheathing and extend back and over the splices if possible, otherwise trim as necessary.
13.	Apply the supplied hi-temp adhesive cloth over the length of the harness extension and overlap the OE sheathing by at least one inch, trim as necessary.
14.	Verify adhesive cloth is fully mated along its entire length, and secure harness with cable straps supplied
15.	Use included cable straps to secure harness extension after installation is complete.
