2. | NOTE Softail® Deluxe models require using the Original Equipment (OE), Left Hand (LH) directional/Auxiliary (AUX) lamp switch cap. | |
3. | Separate the upper and lower halves of the housing from the new LHCM. See the service manual. | |
4. | Install the new LHCM. See the service manual. |
5. | NOTE Verify that the ignition switch is OFF before installing the main fuse. | |
6. | Install Digital Technician II (DT II) and perform the following steps: a. Vehicle information > Tool Box > Vehicle Setup > Cruise Control and click on Enable. | |
7. | Remove DT II. | |

8. | Turn the ignition switch to IGNITION, but do not start the motorcycle. Turn the handlebar to the left and right steering stops, testing the handlebar control functions at each stop. If the left handlebar control contacts the fuel tank, rotate the handlebar slightly upward. See the service manual. | |
9. | Refer to the Cruise Control section of the owner's manual for cruise control operating instructions. Test ride motorcycle. Verify that the cruise control is operating properly. |
