Models
Touring and FXR motorcycles from 1981 to 2001 will no longer have preassembled bushing assemblies from the supplier. This instruction sheet will show how to assemble parts prior to installation on the motorcycle.
Additional Parts Required
Tools required will be a HD 96208-80 press plug and a HDX 39361-B sprocket shaft seal installer. A press will be required for assembly of the clevebloc.

Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. INSTALLATION
1. See Figure 1. Remove excess rubber from the clevebloc bushing up to the point where the pin tapers. Lubricate the clevebloc bushing with engine oil.
2. Insert the clevebloc bushing with the tapered end into the outer bushing. Install the press plug tool (HD 96208-80) on top of the clevebloc bushing with the pin end facing down.
3. Set the stacked up assembly on the sprocket shaft seal installer (HDX 39361-B). Using an arbor press (or other suitable press), install the clevebloc bushing until it bottoms out to the outer bushing.

4. See Figure 3. Install the tolerance ring (Part Number 47538-79) on the outer bushing.

5. Refer to the service manual to install the clevebloc/bushing assembly to the swing arm.
