Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for your model motorcycle is required for this installation. One is available from a Harley-Davidson Dealer.
A suitable lift or hoist to hold motorcycle upright is required.
A block suitable to hold the center stand open is required.
INSTALLATION
WARNINGTo prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)
| 1. | See the service manual. Remove main fuse. | |||||||||||||||
| 2. | See Figure 1. Carefully open center stand (2). Insert block (7) in open position as shown. | |||||||||||||||
| 3. | Set mounting plate (1) on center stand (2). | |||||||||||||||
| 4. | Install two rear 3/8 x 7/8 screws (3) into weld nuts (4). Turn screws two turns. |

| 5. | Stand motorcycle upright (not leaning on jiffy stand) on a level surface. | |||||||||||||||

| 7. | See Figure 2. Slide mounting plate tabs (4) into lower frame tubes (5). | |
| 8. | Install front bracket (6) over lower frame tubes (5). | |
| 9. | Insert two front screws (3) through center stand (2) into the mounting plate (1). | |
| 10. | Tighten four screws (3) to secure the mounting plate to the center stand. Tighten to 27.1 N·m (20 ft-lbs). |
| 11. | See Figure 3. Install foot pedal (3) into center stand (1). | |
| 12. | Install screws (4). Tighten both screws. Tighten to 17.6 N·m (13 ft-lbs). | |
| 13. | See the service manual. Install main fuse. |

USING THE STAND
WARNINGWhen using this display stand, do not park on inclined surfaces with the motorcycle front pointing downhill. The vehicle could roll off the stand and fall, resulting in death or serious injury. (00524b)
WARNINGNever start engine when motorcycle is on display stand. Motorcycle could fall resulting in death or serious injury. (00548b)
Engaging the Stand
- Stop the vehicle on a level surface.
- See Figure 4. While standing on the left side of the vehicle, push down on foot pedal (1) until it touches the surface. Verify that both sides are contacting the surface.
- Push foot pedal all the way down with boot. The motorcycle lifts as the center stand is deployed. The center stand travels over center and the vehicle is stable.

Retracting the Stand
- See Figure 5. While grasping the handlebar securely, lift the foot pedal (1)with boot until the stand retracts.
