INSTALLATION
| 1. | Install support cushions in the new saddlebag bottoms: a. Insert retainer stems through holes. b. Pull from inside until cushion is seated. | |||||||||||||
| 2. | See Figure 1. Install wear strips: a. Clean mounting area with a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water. Allow to dry completely. b. Test fit wear strip location before removing protective paper. Mark the location with a grease pencil. c. Remove protective paper from wear strip. d. Secure wear strip to saddlebag. Press firmly for 10 seconds. e. Remove grease pencil marks. |  Figure 1. Wear Strip Location | ||||||||||||
| 3. | Install warning labels to forward inner surface of the new saddlebags. | |||||||||||||
| 4. | Remove the original saddlebags. Place on a protected surface with cover open. | |||||||||||||
| 5. | See Figure 2. Remove screws (4) securing tether to saddlebag. | |||||||||||||
| 6. | Remove two remaining screws (2). Separate cover with latch assembly from saddlebag. | |||||||||||||
| 7. | Remove four screws (5). | |||||||||||||
| 8. | Remove strike (6). Repeat with remaining strike. | |||||||||||||
| 9. | Install strikes to new saddlebag with screws (5). Tighten. Torque: 1.7–2.3 N·m (15–20 in-lbs) Saddlebag strikes NOTE Screws (2, 4) are easily cross-threaded. Use extreme care when installing. | |||||||||||||
| 10. | Align hinge with saddlebag and loosely install screws (4) without the tether to maintain alignment. | |||||||||||||
| 11. | Install screws (2). Tighten. Torque: 4.5–5.1 N·m (40–45 in-lbs) Saddlebag face plate/hinge screws | |||||||||||||
| 12. | Remove screws (4), install tether and secure. Tighten. Torque: 4.5–5.1 N·m (40–45 in-lbs) Saddlebag face plate/hinge screws | |||||||||||||
| 13. | Transfer attachment isolator grommets (A) from the old saddlebag. | |||||||||||||
| 14. | Install the saddlebags. |
