Installation Requirements

WARNING

Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)

REMOVE

NOTE

Careful not to scratch paint or surface.

Figure 1 Remove two screws (A) from alternator cover. Retain screws.

INSTALL

NOTE

Ensure O-ring is installed properly prior to coating the O-ring with oil.

1.	Figure 2 Coat O-ring (2) with clean oil.
2.	Install new alternator plug cover (1).
3.	Figure 1 Secure using OE screws (A). Tighten. Torque: 5.3–7.5 N·m (47–66 in-lbs)

MAINTENANCE

Kits 25700165 and 25701181 contain exposed aluminum. Protect exposed aluminum with Harley-Davidson Protective Wipes (93600063), which reduces corrosion.
