Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
PREPARE
1. Set parking brake. See owner's manual.
2. Remove seat. See service manual.
3. Remove main fuse. See service manual.

1. Figure 1 Remove adhesive backing from hub cap ring (3).
2. Install hub cap ring (3) to hub cap (4).
Wheel With Center Cap
NOTE
  • Do not place jack under axle for tire removal.
  • Always check lug nut torque within Distance: 500–1,000 mi (805–1,610 km) after wheel installation.
1. Figure 2 Loosen four lug nuts (2).
2. Position jack and lift vehicle. See service manual.
3. Remove lug nuts (2) and wheel.
4. Remove and discard screw (5), washer (4), backplate (3) and center cap (1).
5. Install wheel.
a. Install lug nuts (2) in a cross-wise pattern. Do Not Tighten Completely.
b. Lower vehicle and remove jack.
c. Tighten lug nuts (2) in a cross-wise pattern.
Torque: 122–135.5 N·m (90–100 ft-lbs)
6. Using palm of hand, press new hub cap into center hole of wheel until it seats and latches to wheel.
Wheel With Hub Cap
1. Figure 2 Locate access slot on diameter of hub cap (6).
2. Using appropriate tool remove hub cap (6).
3. Using palm of hand, press new hub cap into center hole of wheel until it seats and latches to wheel.

COMPLETE
1. Install main fuse. See service manual.
2. Install seat. After installing seat, pull up on seat to verify that it is secure. See service manual.
