Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:

REMOVE
| 1. | Figure 2 Remove flange locking nuts (3) and shoulder screws (4) from underside of footboard (1, 2). Retain locking nuts. | |
| 2. | Remove footboard (1, 2) from support brackets (5, 9, 10). | |
| 3. | Remove socket head screw (7), lockwasher (6) and front supports (5) from both sides. Clean the threads and retain socket head screws. |

| 4. | Figure 2 Install left footboard (1) onto Original Equipment (OE) forward brackets (5), shoulder screws (4) and OE flange nuts (3) removed earlier. Tighten. Torque: 6.8–9 N·m (60–80 in-lbs) Footboard mounting screws | |

WEAR PEG REPLACEMENT
| 1. | Figure 3 Remove existing wear peg (2) from footboard. | |
| 2. | Apply 2 or 3 drops of threadlocker to threads of new wear peg (2) and install.LOCTITE 243 MEDIUM STRENGTH THREADLOCKER AND SEALANT (BLUE) (99642-97) | |
| 3. | Tighten wear peg (2). Torque: 3.4–4.8 N·m (30–42 in-lbs) Wear peg |
