Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:

PREPARE
| 1. | Remove rider seat assembly. See service manual. |
REMOVE
| 1. | Place seat upside down taking care not to damage seat material. | |
| 2. | Figure 2 Remove support cable from original location (1). a. Figure 3 Cut one side of cable loop. b. Remove entire cable from retainer bar. Discard cable. Note, retainer bar will remain in seat. |

INSTALL
| 1. | Install NEW support cable. a. Figure 4 Insert end of support cable (1) without grommet into new hole in seat pan. b. Insert support cable retainer into hole until it can be pulled tight against inside surface of seat base. | |
| 2. | Pull support cable tight to ensure retainer is positioned properly in seat base. |
