b. Install tether. See service manual.
c. Feed harness slack through top hole grommet.
3.
NOTE
  • Avoid adhesive tape locations with extreme curvature resulting in partial surface contact.
  • Adhesion of parts depends on surface cleanliness. Proper bond may not occur if adhesive tape is applied to a surface more than once.
  • Adhesive tape requires 24 hours to gain full bonding strength. Apply at 15 °C (59 °F) or higher. Avoid excessive strain on wires when securing.
Figure 1 and Figure 6 Route harness inside saddlebag as shown securing with cable straps (2) and anchors (3) as required to maintain harness placement.
a. The cable anchor nearest top grommet will maintain the wire loop. Before tightening, gently secure the cable tie on this anchor, close the lid and inspect for visible wiring. If visible remove additional slack between lamp and top grommet. With lid open, wire should not be strained entering the top grommet.
4. Install grommet to side marker harness and insert through bottom drilled hole.
5. Figure 7 If installing Marker Lamp Kit (Part No. 68000372) with Interior Lamp Kit (Part No. 68000425) in each saddlebag, separate purchase of two Rear Accessory Wire Harness jumpers (Part No. 69203366) is required.
a. Install jumper harness through saddlebag lower hole as shown, and route both lamp harnesses together.
b. Connect to jumper harness connectors at bottom of saddlebag.
6. Disconnect stock harness connector on back of each rear running/turn/stop lamps.
a. Install Lighting Harness Jumper (Part No. 69203270) inline with stock turn lamp harness.
b. Secure to fender support ensuring no contact with moving parts or exhaust.
7. Secure harness extending outside saddlebag with an anchor and cable strap. Avoid deforming the grommet by maintaining a small loop of wire at the exit. Ensure slack cannot contact moving parts.
