If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. WARNINGDo not install these seat kits on motorcycles that are not equipped with an appropriate grab strap and passenger footpegs. If footpegs and grab strap are not installed, passenger could fall from moving motorcycle or grab onto operator, causing loss of control and death or serious injury. (00410b)
INSTALLATION
| 1. | Remove seat. See Owners Manual. | |
| 2. | See Figure 1. Install the seat (3) sliding it forward and onto seat retention tab (4). | |
| 3. | Install retention screw and washer (2). After installing seat, pull up on the seat to verify that it is secure. Torque: 9–11 N·m (6.6–8.1 ft-lbs) Retention Screw | |
| 4. | Position seat strap (5) over rear of seat. | |
| 5. | Place passenger pillion (1) at rear of seat. | |
| 6. | Slide pillion forward engaging the two tabs into slots (6). | |
| 7. | Align retaining post (7) and grommet. Push down until pillion is fully seated. After installing pillion, pull up slightly to verify that it is secure. |
