Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00308b)
  • A small right angle tool is required for grille removal.
Kit Contents
See Figure 3 and Table 1.
REMOVAL
NOTE
  • To prevent paint damage, do not pry between speaker grille and inner fairing.
  • Use care to not damage speaker when inserting right angle tool.
  1. See Figure 1. Remove speaker grille. Method A:
    1. Carefully insert a right angle tool (3) through a hole in the grille next to one clip (1, 4).
    2. Pull tool to release clip.
    3. Repeat with remaining clip.
    4. Remove speaker grille.
  2. Method B:
    1. Remove top air duct.
    2. From above, reach down into speaker area. Push on tab to disengage upper clip (1).
    3. Carefully pull near lower clip (4) to disengage. Remove grille.

INSTALLATION
NOTE
See Figure 2. The new speaker grilles are side-specific.
  1. Install the grille.
    1. Verify that the rubber gasket is in place on perimeter of grille.
    2. Engage tab (2) into grille opening.
    3. Engage clips (1) in slots in inner fairing.
    4. Push on grille in clip areas until an audible click is heard.
  2. Repeat steps for the opposite side.

IN USE
Avoid direct contact of a pressure washer with speaker grilles. Damage to speakers can result.
