SiriusXM^® satellite radio is only available within the continental United States, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico (with limited coverage). It is not available in Alaska or Hawaii. Canadian coverage, contact SiriusXM of Canada directly.

Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00308b)

NOTE

This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for this year/model motorcycle is required for this installation. One is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.

Electrical Overload

NOTICE

It is possible to overload the vehicle's charging system by adding too many electrical accessories. If the combined electrical accessories operating at any one time consume more electrical current than the vehicle's charging system can produce, the electrical consumption can discharge the battery and cause damage to the vehicle's electrical system. WARNING

When installing any electrical accessory, be certain not to exceed the maximum amperage rating of the fuse or circuit breaker protecting the affected circuit being modified. Exceeding the maximum amperage can lead to electrical failures, which could result in death or serious injury. (00310a)

The SiriusXM Radio requires up to 400 milliamps additional current from the electrical system.

PREPARE

WARNING

To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)

1.	NOTE See the service manual for the following steps. Remove main fuse.
2.	Remove outer fairing.

INSTALLATION

SiriusXM Module

1.	See Figure 3. Remove the access screws (4) at the back of the radio. Discard access panel. Save screws for installation.
2.	See Figure 5. Install SiriusXM module. a. If installed, remove plastic pin guard (A) from SiriusXM module (2). b. Align connectors of the SiriusXD module and radio. c. Hold SiriusXM module parallel to radio. d. Gently slide SiriusXM module straight into position. e. Confirm that SiriusXM module is properly aligned with the radio. Refer to Figure 1 and Figure 2. f. 3.	Install access screws. Tighten. Torque: 0.338–0.564 N·m (3–5 in-lbs) bracket

Antenna Mounting

Fork-Mounted Fairing

1.	NOTE If a Wireless Headset Interface Module (WHIM) is installed or is going to be installed use the antenna mounting procedure in the WHIM I-Sheet (J06542). See Figure 3. Loosen screws (2) and slide bracket (3) into place. Tighten. Torque: 5.42–6.78 N·m (48–60 in-lbs) bracket
2.	See Figure 5. Clean mounting surfaces of antenna (1) and bracket with alcohol wipe (5). Once dry, install adhesive pad (4) to bracket and install antenna onto adhesive pad. Refer to Adhesive Strips.
3.	Route antenna wire following existing harness routings.
4.	Connect SiriusXM antenna to SiriusXM module.
5.	Install cable straps (3) to secure antenna cable to existing harnesses.

Frame Mounted Fairing

1.	See Figure 4. Clean mounting surfaces of antenna. Refer to Adhesive Strips.
2.	See Figure 5. Once dry, install adhesive pad (4) to bracket and install antenna onto adhesive pad.
3.	Route antenna wire following existing harness routings.
4.	See Figure 3. Connect SiriusXM antenna (5) to SiriusXM module (4).
5.	Install cable straps (3) to secure antenna cable to existing harnesses.

Adhesive Strips

1.	NOTE Ambient temperature between 21–38 °C (70–100 °F) for proper adhesion. Do not apply below 10 °C (50.0 °F). Parts cannot be repositioned after initial adhesive installation. Allow at least 24 hours after application before exposing the area to vigorous washing, strong water spray or extreme weather. The adhesive bond will increase to maximum strength after about 72 hours at normal room temperature. Do not clean with denatured alcohol, mineral spirits or other solvents. Damage to components occurs. Using a 50:50 isopropyl alcohol/water solution, thoroughly clean surface. Allow to dry completely.
2.	Install item into area. a. With the adhesive backing still in place, test fit the item to the area.

COMPLETE

1.	Install main fuse. See the service manual. NOTE The radio takes longer to boot up the first time while the radio updates menus and performs other functions.
2.	Turn radio on to verify function. SiriusXM should now be a menu selection. Manually search for channel 1 prior to activation.
3.	Install outer fairing. See service manual.
4.	Refer to the Boom! Box owner's manual for activation instructions. See Serviceinfo.Harley-Davidson.com
