Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00308b)
REMOVE
1. Remove the passenger footpeg clevis pin (A).
a. Figure 2 Locate the locking tab.
b. Pushing the locking tab inward.
c. Using a drift, push upward and remove clevis pin.

NOTE
Verify the detent plate is removed with the passenger footpeg. Failure to remove the detent plate with the assembly may result in loss of the detent ball and spring.
2. Remove OE passenger footpeg assembly including detent plate (3, B and C).
a. Pulling footpeg assembly outward, remove assembly from vehicles frame.
b. Cover footpeg assembly with a shop towel, remove detent plate (3).
c. Locate detent ball (B) and spring (C).
d. Set detent ball and spring aside for future use.
e. Discard detent plate (3).
INSTALL
1. Clean detent ball (B) and spring (C).
2. Locate blind hole in new passenger footpeg (1 or 2) assembly.
3. Install detent spring and ball in to blind hole.
4. Keeping pressure on detent ball, slide new detent plate (3) over detent ball and spring.
5. Install passenger footpeg assembly in to frame.
6. Position footpeg assembly to align with clevis pin hole.
7. From upper side of frame, install clevis pin (A).
a. Verify clevis pin locking tab is fully seated.
COMPLETE
1. Verify operation.
a. Fold passenger footpeg assembly up and down.
