Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00308b)
INSTALL
NOTE
Install panels when ambient temperature is 16 °C (61 °F) or above.
| 1. | See Figure 1. Thoroughly clean area with a 50:50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. Allow to dry completely. | |
| 2. | Remove tape protecting the adhesive pads (2) on the inside of the tank strap. | |
| 3. | Figure 2 Install tank strap to tank. a. Start at base of tank. b. Continue working up the tank. | |
| 4. | Press firmly on top surface of cover. | |
| 5. | Hold for 30 seconds. NOTE Wait 24 hours before exposure to water, temperature change or operating vehicle. Adhesive will fully cure after 72 hours at room temperature. |
