Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00308b)
REMOVE
| 1. | Remove Original Equipment (OE) insert from lower transmission housing. a. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry outward on bottom edge of cover. b. Remove all tape and adhesive residue from transmission cover. |
INSTALLATION
| 1. | Thoroughly clean area with a 50:50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. Allow to dry completely. | |
| 2. | Remove tape protecting adhesive pads on the inside of decorative insert. | |
| 3. | Visually align decorative insert covers to mating component. a. Align cover (2) with alignment notch. b. Press firmly in fastener area to secure. | |
| 4. | Hold for 30 seconds. NOTE Wait 24 hours before exposure to water, temperature change or operating vehicle. Adhesive will fully cure after 72 hours at room temperature. |
