Installation Requirements
FLTRXSTSE models: Separate purchase of Front Support Mounts (Part No. 47200302A - qty of 2) is required. See service manual for removal of old front supports and install of new supports.
This kit is not compatible with Leather Rider Footboard Fringe Kits (50205-97) or (50206-98).
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00308b)
REMOVE
1. Remove two shoulder bolts and locknuts attaching existing footboard to mounting brackets.
2. Remove the footboard.
3. Clean and inspect the footboard brackets. Replace if worn, rusted or damaged.
NOTE
For kit 50500089, use Original Equipment (OE) mounting hardware when installing footboards.
INSTALL
1. Install appropriate footboard (1 or 2) in place over mounting brackets.
2. Line up the holes and install shoulder bolts (3) and locknuts (4). Tighten.
Torque: 9–12 N·m (7–9 ft-lbs)
3. Check that footboard pivots freely.
4. Repeat procedure for opposite side.
