Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a LiveWire dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (16004a)
WARNINGBrush guards and wind deflectors are not intended to provide protection from bodily injury in a collision with another vehicle or any other object. (11609b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:

REMOVE

ASSEMBLE
| 1. | See Figure 1. Assemble left deflector. a. Assemble left deflector extension (3) and left wind deflector (4) using two screws (1). Hand tighten. Torque: 1 N·m (9 in-lbs) b. Assemble left deflector assembly to left hand guard bracket (8) using two retainers (2) and fours screws (1). Hand tighten. 1 N·m (9 in-lbs) | |
| 2. | Repeat procedure for right deflector. |
INSTALL
| 1. | See Figure 1. Apply threadlocker to mirror bar end (11).LOCTITE 243 MEDIUM STRENGTH THREADLOCKER AND SEALANT (BLUE) (99642-97) | |
| 2. | Install new bar end (11) into left handlebar. Tighten. Torque: 18–24 N·m (13–18 ft-lbs) | |
| 3. | Install left mirror. See service manual. | |
| 4. | See Figure 1. Install left hand guard assembly onto left bar end. a. Apply thread locker to screw (9).LOCTITE 243 MEDIUM STRENGTH THREADLOCKER AND SEALANT (BLUE) (99642-97) b. Install left hand guard assembly onto left bar end. c. Position hand guard in line with hand controls. d. Install bar end cap (10) and screw (9). Tighten. Torque: 18–24 N·m (13–18 ft-lbs) | |
| 5. | Repeat procedure for right hand guard. |
COMPLETE
| 1. | Verify that all hand controls, switches and levers function properly and are easy to operate. | |
| 2. | Verify that handlebars can be turned fully left and right without hand guards making contact with any other vehicle components. | |
| 3. | If necessary, readjust hand guards, hand controls or handlebars as required to eliminate any operational or clearance concerns. |
MAINTENANCE
