Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
PREPARE
1. Remove main fuse. See service manual.
CLUTCH LEVER
Remove
1. Remove clutch lever.
a. See Figure 2. Loosen clutch cable (3). See service manual.
b. See Figure 3. Depress clutch lever (2) to grip.
c. Cable tie clutch lever to grip.
d. See Figure 2. Remove clutch switch cover (8) from underside of perch.
2. See Figure 2. Remove clutch switch (6). See service manual.
3. Remove cable tie on clutch lever.
4. Remove retaining ring (10) and pivot pin (4).
5. Remove clutch lever.
Install
1. See Figure 4. Align new clutch lever (1).
2. Install new pivot pin (2) and retaining ring (5).
3. Depress clutch lever and cable tie to grip.
4. See Figure 2. Install clutch switch (6) being careful not to damage it.
5. Apply threadlocker to thread of switch screw (7).LOCTITE 243 MEDIUM STRENGTH THREADLOCKER AND SEALANT (BLUE) (99642-97)
6. Tighten screw (7).
Torque: 0.3–0.59 N·m (3–5 in-lbs)
7. See Figure 2. Install clutch switch cover (8).
b. Tighten screw (9).
Torque: 53 N·m (469 in-lbs)
8. See Figure 3. Remove cable tie from clutch lever (2).
9. Slowly activate clutch lever.
NOTE
Listen for two clicks of the switch on each full travel of the clutch lever.

BRAKE LEVER
Remove
1. Remove E-clip beneath front brake lever.
2. Pull brake lever in slightly to create a gap at the switch.
3. Remove pin and brake lever.
4. See Figure 5. Touring models ONLY: Remove plunger (7) and push rod. See service manual.
Install
1. See Figure 5. Touring models ONLY: Install new push rod and plunger (7).
2. Align new brake lever being careful of the switch.
3. Install new brake lever pin and E-clip.
4. Slowly activate brake lever. Watch for tail light activation.
