See Figure 1. The UNIVERSAL CRIMPER SET (Part Number:HD-50120) is used to install pin and socket terminals by using interchangeable dies.

Die Replacement
- See Figure 1. Determine terminal type based on connector or wire being repaired.
- To replace the dies, open the HAND CRIMP FRAME (Part Number:HD-50120-2) jaws.
- Remove the M4 X 9 mm (short screw) on the moving jaw and the M4 X 18 mm (long screw) on the fixed jaw.
- Remove the die set.
- Swing open the locator and remove the locator from the locator mounting post.
- Snap the appropriate locator onto the locator mounting post on the left side of the hand crimp frame. Align the nest designator letters A and B on both dies and install the dies with the letters being visible (opposite side from locator).
- Install the M4 X 9 mm (short screw) on the moving jaw and the M4 X 18 mm (long screw) on the fixed jaw.
Terminal Replacement
- See Figure 2. Rotate the terminal locator away from the crimp tool.

- With the HAND CRIMP FRAME (Part Number:HD-50120-2) jaws in the open position, return the locator to its original position.
- Refer to Table 1. For correct strip length. Insert the stripped wire over the terminal with the tip up against the wire stop.
- Compress the terminal by squeezing the tool handles until the ratchet mechanism cycle has been completed. Then release the handles to open the jaws.
- Remove and visually inspect the crimped terminal for proper crimp quality and location.
NOTE
Some larger terminals may not swing past the lower die into position. If this is the case, load the terminal from the front, with the locator in the closed position. Sliding the locator slightly up its mounting post will ease insertion.
