Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)

2023 FLTRXSE:

Installation by a technician at a Harley-Davidson dealership is recommended.
To ensure proper audio performance, speaker set up in the Infotainment Control Unit (IFCU) OR Digital Technician II (DT II) is required for audio configuration and amplifier firmware update.
NOTE
Make certain to select the proper stage speaker during set up for proper audio functionality and speaker performance. If the wrong stage is selected, this may lead to poor speaker performance and damage.
PREPARE
NOTE
Models with security: Disable security system. See Owner's Manual.
1. Remove left saddlebag. See Owner's Manual.
2. Remove left side cover. See Owner's Manual.
3. Remove main fuse. See Owner's Manual.
INSTALL
1. See Figure 2. Orient fairing lower stage I (1, 2) or stage II/III (3, 4) speaker as shown.
2. Install new speaker.
a. See Figure 4. Connect connectors to speaker terminals.
NOTE
Use care to install wide spade connector (black) onto wide speaker terminal (-) and narrow spade connector (white) onto narrow speaker terminal (+) to ensure correct polarity.
b. See Figure 5. Install speaker into enclosure aligning single enclosure post (1) with single speaker blind hole (3) and double enclosure pins (2) with double speaker holes (4).
NOTE
Double pins (2) will poke thru gasket on rear of speaker and into double holes (4) in speaker frame.
c. Verify proper speaker alignment as stated in step 1 above.
3. Install speaker screws.
a. Alternately secure screws in a criss-cross pattern.
b. Tighten.
Torque: 1.8–2.3 N·m (16–20 in-lbs)
4. Install grille.
a. See Figure 3. Align posts on fairing lower speaker grille (1) with grommets(2).
b. Install grille firmly into grommets until fully seated.

NOTE
To prevent possible damage to sound system, verify that ignition is OFF before installing main fuse.
1. Install main fuse. See Owner's Manual.
2. Install left side cover. See Owner's Manual.
3. Install left saddlebag. See Owner's Manual.
4. Turn ignition ON, but do not start vehicle.
5. Make sure that all speakers are working properly. Check that upper fairing and lower fairing fader function is operating correctly. If not, check speaker wiring and proper speaker set up in the IFCU.
