Installation Requirements

WARNING

Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00308b)

PREPARE

Remove license plate, if present.

REMOVE

1.	See Figure 2. Disconnect license plate lamp. a. Remove cover (3). b. Remove connector from clip (2). c. Disconnect connector (1).
2.	See Figure 4. Remove license plate reflector bracket (1).
3.	See Figure 3. Remove screws (4) and washers (3). Retain for later use.
4.	Remove license plate module (6) and gasket (2). Retain gasket for later use.
5.	Remove lamp cover assembly from license plate bracket. Retain lamp cover assembly and fasteners for later use.

INSTALL

1.	See Figure 5. Install lamp cover assembly (1). a. Insert Original Equipment (OE) connector (2) through opening on license plate bracket (6). b. Position lamp over assembly on license plate bracket. c. Install OE screws. Tighten. Torque: 0.7–0.9 N·m (6–8 in-lbs)
2.	See Figure 5. Install license plate bracket assembly. a. Place gasket (4) on license plate bracket assembly. b. Insert connector through opening on fender. c. Install washers (10) and screws (9). Tighten. Torque: 3.4–4.1 N·m (30–36 in-lbs)
3.	See Figure 2. Connect license plate lamp. a. Connect connector (1). b. Install connector into clip (2). c. Install cover (3).
4.	Install license plate, license plate trim cover (7), screws (8) and locknuts (5).
5.	See Figure 5. Install reflector assembly (3) 1 inch above license plate bracket (6). a. Clean fender with a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. b. Remove liner from adhesive on back of reflector base. c. Center reflector on fender 1 inch above license plate bracket. d. Apply pressure to reflector assembly for 1 minute. Adhesive reaches maximum strength after 24 hours.
