OPERATION
1. Plug in the coiled audio cable at the headset and audio source.
2. See Figure 1. Put the headset on as shown, with the neck bow across the back of the head, above the neck.
NOTE
Two sets of headset ear hangers ( Figure 3 , Items 5 and 6) are provided in the kit. These can be installed, if needed, onto the forward part of the headset to hold the speakers in a comfortable position. See HEADSET EAR HANGER INSTALLATION for installation instructions.
3. If installed, hook the headset ear hangers over the ears.
4. Put the helmet on, with the strap passing over the headset and microphone boom. Fasten securely. After putting the helmet on, position the boom with the microphone lightly touching or directly to the left of the lips.
5. Attach the clothing clip to the audio cable, and clip to clothing as desired to secure.
NOTICE
Do not pull on the cord to remove the headset from the socket. Pull on the headset jack to disconnect the headset from the socket. (00174a)
6. Detach the audio cable from the audio source , clothing and headset, and store in the case when not in use.
WARNING
Do not select a volume level that blocks out traffic noise or interrupts the concentration necessary for safe operation of the motorcycle. Distractions or a volume level that blocks out traffic noise could cause loss of control resulting in death or serious injury. (00539b)

HEADSET EAR HANGER INSTALLATION
1. See Figure 3. Select either two short (5) or two long (6) headset ear hangers from the kit.
2. See Figure 2. Hold the elongated end (2) of the hanger (1) against the inside of the headset neck bow (5) as shown, near the three notches (7).

3. Wrap the hanger under and around the neck bow. Insert the oval end (3) of the hanger through the elongated hole at the other end of the hanger. Pull most of the hanger through the elongated hole, but do not pull tight at this time.
4. Install the oval eye over the end of the headset bow to rest in the forward notch (6).
5. Repeat Steps 2-4 on the other side of the headset.
6. See Figure 1. Put the headset on as shown, with the neck bow across the back of the head, above the neck.
7. Hook the ear hangers over the ears. Adjust the rearward end of the hangers for comfort and proper speaker position.
8. Remove the headset, and position the rearward end of the hangers into the nearest notch (7).
9. Pull each hanger end tight in the notch until the fins (4) lock the end in place.
