Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)

This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
These items are available at your local Harley-Davidson dealership.
  • Separate purchase of mufflers clamps (Part No. 65900012-Right) and (Part No. 65900015-Left) is required
  • All models require Electronic Control Module (ECM) calibration with Screamin' Eagle Pro Street Tuner for proper installation.
Noise Emission Warranty
Harley-Davidson warrants that these mufflers, at the time of sale, meet all applicable noise and emissions standards. This warranty extends to the original purchaser for purposes other than resale, and to all subsequent buyers. Direct warranty claims to an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer.
Tampering Prohibition
NOTE
To avoid penalties under state and local ordinances, repair or replace this product if motorcycle noise increases significantly through use.
Regulations prohibit any modifications to this exhaust system which cause the motorcycle to exceed noise standards. Use of a motorcycle with such a modified exhaust system is also prohibited.
PREPARE
1. Remove left and right saddlebags. See service manual.
REMOVE
1. Figure 2 Loosen muffler clamp (A or B).
2. Figure 3 Remove and retain screws (C) and lockwashers (D).
3. Figure 2 Remove Original Equipment (OE) muffler (1 or 2).
4. Discard muffler clamp (A or B).
INSTALL
1. Figure 2 Install new muffler clamp (A or B) on inlet end of muffler (1 or 2) as shown.
2. Install muffler onto exhaust pipe (E or F).
3. Figure 3 Position sliding bracket (G) to muffler.
4. Install lockwashers (D) and screws (C). Tighten.
Torque: 19–24.2 N·m (14–18 ft-lbs)
5. Figure 2 Position muffler clamp (A or B).
a. Make sure clamp screw is in a vertical position.
b. Tighten clamp screw.
Torque: 52–58.5 N·m (38–43 ft-lbs)
6. Repeat procedure for opposite side.

Wipe all fingerprints off of exhaust system components after installation and before starting engine. Oil from hands can leave permanent marks on exhaust system finish. (00346a)
1. Start engine. Check for exhaust leaks.
2. Install left and right saddlebags. See service manual.
3. Calibrate ECM. See Installation Requirements
