Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
PREPARE
1. Remove seat assembly. See service manual.
2. Remove console. See service manual.
INSTALL
NOTE
When performing this installation, do not scratch nearby painted or chrome surfaces.
1. Figure 2 Install console (2) using care to keep boot in place around fill tube.
2. Install new screw (1) and new screw (3). Tighten.
Torque: 4–7 N·m (35–62 in-lbs) Lower screw (3)
Torque: 2.3–3.3 N·m (20–29 in-lbs) Upper screw (1)

COMPLETE
1. Install seat. After installing seat, pull up on seat to verify that it is secure. See service manual.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Forged Carbon Fiber part is painted with a matte clear coat and it should not be polished as that would cause an irreparable glossy spot on the part and potentially remove the protective top coat.
