Installation Requirements

WARNING

Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)

NOTE

This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:

Separate purchase of Gasket Installation Kit Screamin Eagle King-6 Transmission (Part No. 36300043) is required.
2006-2017 Twin Cam models: Separate purchase of two Hex Flange Screws (Part No. 35259-06) is required.

NOTE

2006-2017 Twin Cam models requires reusing the OEM shift drum.

NOTE

DO NOT reuse the Original Equipment (OE) main drive gear. Proper function of the transmission requires installation of the provided main drive gear.

PREPARE

1.	Raise the vehicle. See service manual.
2.	Remove main fuse. See service manual.
3.	Remove exhaust system. See service manual.

REMOVE

1.	Remove transmission gear set. See service manual.
2.	Remove and discard main drive gear, bearing, and seal. See service manual.

INSTALL

1.	Install new main drive gear, bearing, and seal. See service manual.
2.	Install transmission gear set. See service manual.

COMPLETE

1.	Install exhaust system. See service manual.
2.	Install main fuse. See service manual.
3.	Lower vehicle. See service manual.
4.	Break-in vehicle. Refer to BREAK-IN RIDING RULES in owner's manual.
