NOTE
The speakers in this kit are for use ONLY on specific 2023.5 and later Harley-Davidson® audio systems. See the P&A retail catalog or the Parts and Accessories section of www.harley-davidson.com (English only). Using these speakers on 2005 or earlier Harley-Davidson audio systems WILL cause permanent damage to those systems.
Installation Requirements
Proper installation of this kit requires the replacement of the saddlebag covers. Covers are available separately from a Harley-Davidson dealer.
For CVO models with power lock module, the installation requires separate purchase of drilled handle kit 90201116.
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
PREPARE
1. Remove and disassemble saddlebag covers. See service manual.
INSTALL
Lock
1. See Figure 2. Install lock.
a. Install lock (1).
b. Install screws (2). Tighten.
Torque: 2.26–3.39 N·m (20.0–30.0 in-lbs) Saddlebag, lock, screws
c. Install cable assembly cam (5).
d. Install C-clip (6).
Strikes
1. See Figure 5. Install strike.
a. Install strike (8).
b. Install screws (9). Tighten.
Torque: 2.26–3.39 N·m (20–30 in-lbs) Saddlebag, strike, screws
Power Actuator and Latch Assembly
1. Install power actuator and latch assembly. See service manual.
Cover Seal
NOTE
Do not touch cleaned area with fingers after cleaning.
1. See Figure 3. Clean seal mounting area.
a. Clean seal mounting area with a mixture of 50 percent isopropyl alcohol and 50 percent distilled water.
b. Allow to dry completely.
2. See Figure 4. Install seal.
NOTE
Align seal leg into rib channel (2) on lid.
a. Peel back a few inches of backing material.
b. Place end of seal (3) flush to, no greater than 0.5 cm (0.2 in) (1) away from hinge area.
c. Work seal onto mounting area a few inches at a time.
NOTE
Do not stretch seal.
d. Cut seal squarely flush to, no greater than 0.5 cm (0.2 in) from hinge.
e. After entire seal is installed, go back around entire seal and press firmly in place.
f. Verify seal is securely adhered.
Cover
NOTE
If installing a new cover, install new seal included. See procedure later in this section.
1. See Figure 3. Install new seal (4) if discarded or install used seal if in good condition.
2. See Figure 5. Install cover.
a. While holding cover (4) in place, install saddlebag hinge screws (3). Tighten.
Torque: 2.26–3.39 N·m (20–30 in-lbs) Saddlebag hinge screws
b. Install tether (2) and screws (1). Tighten.
Torque: 2.26–3.39 N·m (20–30 in-lbs) Saddlebag, tether, screws
Hinge
1. See Figure 5. Install hinge to cover.
a. Align hinge (6).
b. Install latch assembly screws (5). Tighten.
Torque: 3.4–4 N·m (30–35 in-lbs) Saddlebag, latch assembly, screws
c. Align face plate.
d. Install face plate screws (7). Tighten.
Torque: 1.41–1.75 N·m (12–15 in-lbs) Saddlebag, face plate, screws
Tether
1. See Figure 5. Install tether.
a. Place logo on tether (2) facing up and facing you when opening up saddlebag.
NOTE
Harness should not be on the outside of tether.
b. Install screws (1,10). Tighten.
Torque: 2.26–3.39 N·m (20–30 in-lbs) Saddlebag, tether, screws
Lever
1. See Figure 3. Install lever.
a. Install new grommet (3) if worn or damaged.
b. Install lever (2).
c. Install screw (1). Tighten.
Torque: 5–6.2 N·m (44–55 in-lbs) Saddlebag, lever, screw

2. Apply new load capacity label over the original label in the lower half of the saddlebag.
